Hi all,

I just set up HylaFax v. 4.2.5 on a RHEL4 box using the RPM on hylafax.org following the instructions to the letter. I have a Eicon Diva Server V-BRI ISDN card installed. HylaFAX answers the line correctly, and there is no error indication from my testing fax sender (the fax printer on Mac OS X), but there doesn't seem to be any fax data ending up on the server side.

There are two indications that I see which tell me something is not quite right. The log (see [2] at bottom) says...

The configuration is shown in [1], it is a basic no-frills configuration generated by faxaddmodem where all I did afterwards was to comment out the "ModemType" line to make it autodetect the modem. Setting it to Class2 (or using the "eicon-2" sample config) leads to the "Error parsing..." error message shown above and faxgetty then complains the modem is wedged. Setting it to Class1 will also show the "Ring detected without successful handshake" message and the "disappeared fax" symptom.

I have googled the list and looked at the HylaFAX site troubleshooting tips, but the mailing list threads either died off without answer or the situation involved completely different hardware. What it did seem to say is that this is a modem config issue.

Does anyone have a Eicon Diva Server V-BRI or V4-BRI running successfully and wouldn't mind sharing their config?
