use the "sendfax" command to send, example:
sendfax -f "ME" -R -r "faxsubject" -c "commentaire" -x "Recipient's 
company" -d "Jehan@0144084333" /etc/hosts
To receive just start a faxgetty on the device:
/usr/sbin/faxgetty ttyS0
check the state of your fax/queue with:
$ faxstat -ds
