[hylafax-users] problem to fax attachment

This is the second post, I hope to be lucky.
I am trying to send a fax through Sendmail.
Everything is OK, but if I add an attachment:

if it is a tiff, in the fax I see DISCARDED image/tiff GOES HERE

if it is a .ps or .pdf i get back a DNS service unavailable, and the fax
doesn't start.

I tryed to pipe the mimemessage to the faxmail, as it should be done by
sendmail, specifying -v as parameter.
the mimemessage was a line of body with a.pdf attached.

the fax arrived but without the body nor the attachement (a.pdf)

what can I try ? I see a lot of thread about problems in faxing
attachments, but no answer at all.
Unfortunately the WHFC (or any other client) is definitively NOT a solution
for a lot of people: I like WHFC, but they don't.
Any help will be greatly appreciated, before giving up with hylafax (which
in my environment is fully integrated via IAXModem to asterisk...)
