[hylafax-users] "No carrier detected" with USR5610B

I set up a HylaFAX 4.2.3 (RHEL 4) server a few weeks ago with a PCI US
Robotics USR5610B modem on ttyS4; this machine has been sending and
receiving faxes without any problems until today.

I searched for the error message that is showing up in the log but
couldn't find any real resolution, so I appreciate any guidance.

Receiving faxes still works fine, and an old fax machine hooked up to
the same phone jack sends faxes without a problem, but the HylaFAX
machine is no longer able to send. Each sent message results in:

The receiving fax machine rings and answers, but the HylaFAX server
never responds. I have tried sending faxes to multiple machines in
different locations and with the same result. As an example, I have
attached a successful send to the same device as above from about a
week ago at the end of my message. No configuration changes have taken
place since, and we have tried the obvious things like a new piece of
phone cable to the phone jack, etc.

Thanks for your help -- I've been happy with HylaFAX so far but would
like to be able to send faxes again.
