Lee,
The copier is generating a tiff image and emailing internally. There
very little I can do other than change the resolution, filetype, and
destination. It has an internal smtp sender that handles sending files
to an email address. I am then using faxmail with postfix on the
hylafax server to handle the incoming fax request. My master.cf file
has the following syntax for the faxmail command:
user=fax argv=/usr/bin/faxmail -d -n ${user}
Thanks,
Rueben

Thanks for answering my question! with your
answer how do I make that a default for the system.
It would depend upon the client software that you're using. This
setting is usually (almost always) communicated to the server by the
client. So if the user does not specify the setting to the client,
then the client will usually just send its default setting. Any
default setting on the server-side (whatever it is) would almost always
then be superceded by it.
Maybe if I explain my config it will make
better sense. We are an office equipment dealer and the copiers we
sell have the ability to fax and scan to email. However our customer
has severla machine but does not have phone jacks next to each
machine. Our solutionwas to put an Hylafax server on the net and have
the machine scan to email and use the hylafax as an email fax gateway.
This has worked perfectly, but now the customer would like fax
confirmation on sent faxes. I thought FaxNotify would accomplish
this. I don't know how to setup the fax server to append the -D switch
to outgoing faxes.
What fax client are you using for your email-to-fax process? sendfax
scripted? faxmail?
Below is a copy of my FAxNotify file, which
does not seem to work:
WHY=done
I don't think that you want to set WHY to anything... otherwise you
interfere with things. Normally you'd only use $WHY to perform
program-path decisions, etc.
Lee.
