Re: [hylafax-users] Problems sending fax

Hi Michele.

We have seen a lot of problems with the 'stock' Agere OCM (and OCF)
firmware.  Here are my suggestions for you to try;

(1) Upgrade to 4.2.3

(2) Use Class 1/1.0

(3) Send a log with tracing set to 0xFFFF

(4) Ask Hamlet for a modem firmware upgrade (Note: by default the OCM/OCF
chipsets do not require external flash memory and a full firmware upgrade is
therefore impossible... however, if you are VERY lucky the Hamlet board will
have a flash chip fitted).

Subject: [hylafax-users] Problems sending fax

I have installed hylafax 4.2.1-4 in a Suse 9.3

The modem is an Hamlet Skuba Pro V.92, recognised as an Agere OCM V.92 ver
2.7a (Jun 14 2004) Voice MErcury DP2SH mode-li SERIAL

I have used all default parameters in the installation procedure.

The problem is that if i try to send a tiff file, it has a lot of orizontal
lines cutted. I've also looked at the tif file in docq directory and it's
different from the original file i pass to it with sendfax.

I have tried to modify some parameters like flow control, but nothing
happens.

What can i do to understand and solve the problem.

I'm wondering because the original tiff file was generated by an older
version of hylafax on another pc. Resolution should be the same so i don't
know why it's elaborated and why i loose informations in the process.

Thank for any help.
Michele M.
