When you save the file, does it have size 0 ?

If the file does not contain any data, you probably don't have a  
program for MIME encoding installed or your Hylafax configuration is  
not correct. Check Variable MIMENCODE in setup.cache. It should be set  
to something like mimencode or base64-encode and such a program must  
exist.
