Re: [hylafax-users] Control of signaling rate?

4800, 7200, 9600 bps all work.

I would have thought the FAX should fail if I requested a speed lower than "ModemMinSpeed". It just ignores me and fires it out at 14400...

Is that a bug or a feature?

I'm not sure what to call it when the user does something incorrect but then the software compensates.

Fax speeds don't go slower than 2400 bps, so I guess the two options are to 1) error-out on the sendfax command, or 2) proceed and just do whatever seems best.

In general HylaFAX seems to have originally been designed with #2 in mind. Users, however, seem to want #1 most of the time, so in that respect maybe it is a bit user-unfriendly and could potentially be considered a bug. I guess it depends upon the perspective. I've no opinion either way, though.

Thanks,

Lee.
