Found the issue.

The modem I first tested my configuration with was a MT5634PX-PCI-U, 
whereas this one is merely a MT5634PX-PCI. The latter doesn't support 
Class 1.0 (but only Class 1), and thus needs to use the "lucent" profile 
rather than "lucent-mt-10".
