Hi James. In my crontab file I have the following: 01 * * * * root run-parts /etc/cron.hourly 02 4 * * * root run-parts /etc/cron.daily Under /etc/cron.hourly there is a script titled "hylafax" that contains: #!/bin/sh /usr/sbin/faxcron | mail -s "HylaFAX Usage Report" faxmaster exit 0 It produces a daily report. The -s option specifies the subject line and, technically, is optional. So, syntactically both the cron entries you referenced are correct, the first lacking a subject line. They are just scheduled to execute at different times. FaxMaster (or "faxmaster", as email addresses are not case-sensitive) is the recipient, which is the alias the other gentleman referred too. As far as the aliasing (actual recipient) take a look at this: http://www.hylafax.org/archive/1999-05/msg00148.php Laker P.S. You may also want to take a look at the man pages for "cron" and "mail" for additional help and info. --- James McCall <jmccall@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > Excuse me, but wha??? > > There are two lines below.
