If I had the syntax right I typed... faxconfig -m ttyd4 ModemReadyState ``D'' faxstat -s reports Modem ttyd4 (555.1212): Running and idle Modem ttyd5 (555.1212): Running and idle I also tried faxstate -s ``down'' ttyd4 with the same results.
