Awhile ago, I posted a note about wanting to start faxmodem, and I sent out an email showing this:
/usr/sbin/faxmodem -c '(0,1),(0-5),(0-2),(0-2),0,0,0,(0-7)' ttyS1
Using this string my resume and cover letter fax takes about 15 minutes. I am guessing that it is 4 pages including the cover sheet.
Giulio Orsero replied back to me:
That's right, but, assuming you have latest version, if you use the
modem in class1 you should enable it allowing for maximum
capabilities:
df=0,1,3
ec=1
vr=0-64
so, for a class1 you could use
faxmodem -c '(0-64),(0-5),(0-4),(0-2),(0,1,3),(1),(0),(0-7)' ttyS0
Will this string significantly speed things up? My string is a Class 2 string. Will I have to reconfigure hylafax to accept a new Class 1 string?
