Re: [hylafax-users] isi5634upci 8 ports
Hi Emmanuel.
Unfortunately, I don't fully understand your question. The isi5634 and
OCTO+ boards appear to the operating system as eight serial ports each with
a modem connected. This is exactly the same as connecting eight external
serial modems (if your system had enough serial ports) or eight PCI/ISA
modems (if your system had enough PCI/ISA slots). Once installed into your
system the isi5634 or OCTO+ will use the standard serial driver that is
provided by the operating system and you will have eight serial ports (with
modems connected) available for use. Obviously, to use all eight ports you
will require eight analog phone lines.... although you are free to use fewer
ports/lines if you wish.
Once you have the eight modems installed you can configure your applications
to use them in any manor you wish. For example you may wish to use ports 1
and 2 for sending fax, ports 3, 4, and 5 for receiving fax, port 6 for
voice, port 7 for data, and port 8 for sending/receiving fax. Or you might
want to have ports that share fax, voice, and data. Basically, the ports
are completely independent and can be configure them to do pretty much
anything you want.
If this is not answering your question maybe you could try ringing our UK
office and we would be happy to talk you through this +44 1373 830888.
Regards
Andrew

So, I don't need any test before buy it. That's ok. But my first question is
how may I install it, I install the driver for PCI card, but after, you say
I can install the 8 modems, but I don't understand the other possibility,
can I install only one, and let it send on the different phone lines ?
Thank for answers
