Sorry - I hadn't read that bit when I put in my reply.  I have no experience 
of LDAP databases  {though it looks like I might have to learn fast and 
soon!}, but there are definitely perl and python modules for reading them.   
I'm guessing you want the inbound number to correlate to an e-mail 
address .....  in which case you just need to make your receiving script look 
up the person using LDAP, and then format the mail message accordingly.
