Unless you can program your fax machine to 1) not attempt to receive any 
faxes, and 2) not attempt to send a fax when the line is in use, then 
you're really going to need a separate line for each device or you're 
going to need to turn the fax machine off except for when you are using 
it and when you know that a fax isn't being received on the line at that 
moment.
