[hylafax-users] Initializing modem problem

Hello,

I have a few problems with setting up a Hylafax fax server for outgoing fax
sending.

Some details:
SuSE 9.2 pro
Hylafax 4.2.0 from SuSE package (latest version from updates).
Modem: US Robotics Speedster

I tried without and with faxgetty, but no success so far. There seems to be
an 'initialization error'.

I receive the " modem on /dev/ttyS1 appears wedged" message and this is a
part of the log:

setserial output:
# setserial -G /dev/ttyS1
/dev/ttyS1 uart 16550A port 0x02f8 irq 3 baud_base 14400 spd_normal
skip_test

I used it with the initially accepted 38400 rate too, I tried the 14400 but
also without success.

inittab entry for faxgetty:
m0:35:respawn:/usr/lib/fax/faxgetty /dev/ttyS1

The line to which te modem is connected functions correct, faxsetup finds
the modem type, speed etc and I can call an outside line using the phone
port on the modem and an analog phone.

Anyone some suggestions? Help would be highly appreciated.

thank you
jonas
