Re: [hylafax-users] Faxgetty not installed.

Yea, I was stareing at a similar page when I got this. Thanks for the link, and sorry for the noobishness. Okay, one last (I hope) snag that I hope someone can shed some light on. I have tested my modem with cu and it answers incomming calls okay if I tell it ATA. It is a class 1, so I assume most of the defaults are okay. But something is having trouble starting and I can't quite find out what; Faxstat shows this:

HylaFAX scheduler on solpiena.pointclark.net: Running
Modem ttyLT0 (+1.512.926.****): Initializing server

Forever. Could it be I added Faxgetty wrong? I followed the instructions explicitly, but I don't see faxgetty in the active processes.. Although if I run: 'faxgetty ttyLT0' manually from root, i will get instead:

HylaFAX scheduler on solpiena.pointclark.net: Running
Modem ttyLT0 (+1.512.926.****): Waiting for modem to come ready

also forever. Any sudgestions?

Faxgetty is not installed?

There is a difference between "using" and "installed". Just because it's installed doesn't mean that it's being used.

You have to run faxgetty to be using it. Usually this is done from init. Take a look at:
