I hadnt. I did and it hasnt changed. I did notice this in the log though:
Jun 27 15:20:19 mail FaxGetty[2276]: ANSWER: Can not lock modem device
Could that have anything to do with it?

Do you know where the "unknown" is coming from, actually?
