[hylafax-users] "Can not lock modem device" every 30 secs

Hi all,

I have a hylafax server running successfully. Its only duty is to receive faxes so far. All things are doing great BUT ...

the logfiles (i.e. /var/log/daemon.log and /var/log/syslog) show the following entries:

Apr 30 19:31:14 server FaxGetty[1333] MODEM USR USRobotics [...]

At that time "ps ax" showed two running FaxGetty Services:

[...]

1328 ?	Ss	0:00	/usr/sbin/hfaxd -i 4559
1333 ?	S	0:00	/usr/sbin/faxgetty ttyS1
[...]
1392 ?	Ss	0:00	/usr/sbin/faxgetty /dev/ttyS1
[...]

I have my faxgetty started in "inittab":

T1:23:respawn:/usr/sbin/faxgetty /dev/ttyS1

The system ist a Debian sarge, 2.4.27-ct-1 Kernel

Hope you can give me some helpful hints ...

Thanks in advance ... Jörg
