All: I am having difficulty installing my mainpine rockforce octo+ and configuring Fedora kernel 2.6.5-1.358.i386 serial ports/ttyS latches. I have the following information: We have recompiled the fedora core 2 kernel with the options for multiport serial devices enabled as suggested earlier. We ran the setserial command: setserial /dev/ttyS14 port 0xdc80 irq 9 autoconfig ^fourport substituting apropriate io addresses and ttyS where apropriate we are still getting "Cannot get multiport config: Invalid argument" after running setserial /dev/ttyS14 set_multiport port1 0xdce0 mask1 0xFF match1 00x00 lspci /sbin/lspci -d 1522:* 02:0b.0 Modem: MainPine Ltd PCI <-> IOBus Bridge (rev 32) /sbin/lspci -d 1522:* 02:0b.0 Modem: MainPine Ltd PCI <-> IOBus Bridge (rev 32) [root@Comms01Fax root]# /sbin/lspci -nvs 02:0b.0 02:0b.0 Class 0703: 1522:0100 (rev 32) Subsystem: 1522:1d00 Flags: medium devsel, IRQ 9 I/O ports at dc80 Memory at faf00000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=1M] dmesg indicates the following: Serial: 8250/16550 driver $Revision: 1.90 $ 48 ports, IRQ sharing enabled ttyS0 at I/O 0x3f8 (irq = 4) is a 16550A ttyS1 at I/O 0x2f8 (irq = 3) is a 16550A PCI: Found IRQ 9 for device 0000:02:0b.0 PCI: Sharing IRQ 9 with 0000:01:00.0 ttyS14 at I/O 0xdc80 (irq = 9) is a 16550A ttyS15 at I/O 0xdc88 (irq = 9) is a 16550A ttyS44 at I/O 0xdc90 (irq = 9) is a 16550A ttyS45 at I/O 0xdc98 (irq = 9) is a 16550A ttyS46 at I/O 0xdca0 (irq = 9) is a 16550A ttyS47 at I/O 0xdca8 (irq = 9) is a 16550A ttyS2 at I/O 0xdcb0 (irq = 9) is a 16550A ttyS3 at I/O 0xdcb8 (irq = 9) is a 16550A ttyS4 at I/O 0xdcf8 (irq = 9) is a 16450 the following is a list of the ports that showed up in our system: /dev/ttyS14, Line 14, UART: 16550A, Port: 0xdc80, IRQ: 2 Baud_base: 115200, close_delay: 41248, divisor: 0 closing_wait: 50048 Flags: spd_normal skip_test /dev/ttyS15, Line 15, UART: 16550A, Port: 0xdc88, IRQ: 2 Baud_base: 115200, close_delay: 500, divisor: 0 closing_wait: 30000 Flags: spd_normal skip_test /dev/ttyS16, Line 16, UART: unknown, Port: 0xdc90, IRQ: 2 Baud_base: 115200, close_delay: 50000, divisor: 0 closing_wait: 50880 Flags: spd_normal /dev/ttyS17, Line 17, UART: unknown, Port: 0xdc98, IRQ: 2 Baud_base: 115200, close_delay: 50000, divisor: 0 closing_wait: 50880 Flags: spd_normal /dev/ttyS18, Line 18, UART: unknown, Port: 0xdca0, IRQ: 2 Baud_base: 115200, close_delay: 50000, divisor: 0 closing_wait: 50880 Flags: spd_normal /dev/ttyS19, Line 19, UART: unknown, Port: 0xdca8, IRQ: 2 Baud_base: 115200, close_delay: 50000, divisor: 0 closing_wait: 50880 Flags: spd_normal /dev/ttyS2, Line 2, UART: 16550A, Port: 0xdcb0, IRQ: 2 Baud_base: 115200, close_delay: 500, divisor: 0 closing_wait: 30000 Flags: spd_normal skip_test /dev/ttyS3, Line 3, UART: 16550A, Port: 0xdcb8, IRQ: 2 Baud_base: 115200, close_delay: 500, divisor: 0 closing_wait: 30000 Flags: spd_normal skip_test /dev/ttyS4, Line 4, UART: 16450, Port: 0xdcf8, IRQ: 2 Baud_base: 115200, close_delay: 61568, divisor: 0 closing_wait: 24064 Flags: spd_normal skip_test Any help would be appreciated.
