Hi All, I have searched the mailing list and haven't found anything on this problem. What is occuring is that if someone tries to connect to the faxmodem while it is re-initalizing itself, the modem rings out and can't re-initialize until the other side has hung up. This can be seen in the log below. Is it possible to set DTR ON as the last thing the modem does, so that it doesn't accept any calls during the initialization phase. Or is the idea of forward the call on no answer a better idea. We are running Redhat ES 3.0 on our hylafax server version 4.1.8. Here is an extract from the log when a connection is made while the modem is initializing itself after receiving a fax: Feb 14 11:52:57 roadrunner FaxGetty[29410]: <-- [5:ATH0\r] Feb 14 11:52:58 roadrunner FaxGetty[29410]: --> [2:OK] Feb 14 11:52:58 roadrunner FaxGetty[29410]: MODEM set DTR OFF Feb 14 11:52:59 roadrunner FaxGetty[29410]: MODEM set DTR OFF Feb 14 11:52:59 roadrunner FaxGetty[29410]: DELAY 75 ms Feb 14 11:52:59 roadrunner FaxGetty[29410]: MODEM set DTR ON Feb 14 11:52:59 roadrunner FaxGetty[29410]: DELAY 2600 ms Feb 14 11:53:03 roadrunner FaxGetty[29410]: MODEM set baud rate: 19200 baud, input flow RTS/CTS, output flow RTS/CTS Feb 14 11:53:03 roadrunner FaxGetty[29410]: DELAY 10 ms Feb 14 11:53:03 roadrunner FaxGetty[29410]: MODEM flush i/o Feb 14 11:53:03 roadrunner FaxGetty[29410]: <-- [4:ATZ\r] Feb 14 11:53:03 roadrunner FaxGetty[29410]: --> [2:OK] Feb 14 11:53:03 roadrunner FaxGetty[29410]: DELAY 3000 ms Feb 14 11:53:06 roadrunner FaxGetty[29410]: <-- [5:ATE0\r] Feb 14 11:53:06 roadrunner FaxGetty[29410]: --> [4:RING] Feb 14 11:53:06 roadrunner FaxGetty[29410]: MODEM Ring Feb 14 11:53:06 roadrunner FaxGetty[29410]: MODEM set DTR OFF Feb 14 11:53:06 roadrunner FaxGetty[29410]: DELAY 75 ms Feb 14 11:53:06 roadrunner FaxGetty[29410]: MODEM set DTR ON Feb 14 11:53:06 roadrunner FaxGetty[29410]: DELAY 2600 ms Feb 14 11:53:10 roadrunner FaxGetty[29410]: MODEM set baud rate: 19200 baud, input flow RTS/CTS, output flow RTS/CTS Feb 14 11:53:10 roadrunner FaxGetty[29410]: DELAY 10 ms Feb 14 11:53:10 roadrunner FaxGetty[29410]: MODEM flush i/o Feb 14 11:53:10 roadrunner FaxGetty[29410]: <-- [4:ATZ\r] Feb 14 11:53:10 roadrunner FaxGetty[29410]: --> [2:OK] Feb 14 11:53:10 roadrunner FaxGetty[29410]: DELAY 3000 ms Feb 14 11:53:13 roadrunner FaxGetty[29410]: <-- [5:ATE0\r] Feb 14 11:53:13 roadrunner FaxGetty[29410]: --> [4:RING] Feb 14 11:53:13 roadrunner FaxGetty[29410]: MODEM Ring Feb 14 11:53:13 roadrunner FaxGetty[29410]: MODEM set DTR OFF ------------------------------------------------------------------- Here are the normal sequence of events after a fax being received: Feb 14 11:50:03 roadrunner FaxGetty[29410]: <-- [5:ATH0\r] Feb 14 11:50:04 roadrunner FaxGetty[29410]: --> [2:OK] Feb 14 11:50:04 roadrunner FaxGetty[29410]: MODEM set DTR OFF Feb 14 11:50:05 roadrunner FaxGetty[29410]: MODEM set DTR OFF Feb 14 11:50:05 roadrunner FaxGetty[29410]: DELAY 75 ms Feb 14 11:50:05 roadrunner FaxGetty[29410]: MODEM set DTR ON Feb 14 11:50:05 roadrunner FaxGetty[29410]: DELAY 2600 ms Feb 14 11:50:09 roadrunner FaxGetty[29410]: MODEM set baud rate: 19200 baud, input flow RTS/CTS, output flow RTS/CTS Feb 14 11:50:09 roadrunner FaxGetty[29410]: DELAY 10 ms Feb 14 11:50:09 roadrunner FaxGetty[29410]: MODEM flush i/o Thanks for you help.
