Maybe there's a log level I need to bump up somewhere, to get more
useful
information in that log?
Yeah. This doesn't tell us anything useful.
I'm not clear on which settings control which
logs. Right now I've got "ServerTracing: 0xFFF" and "SessionTracing:
0x08501" in config.ttyS0.
SessionTracing: 0xFFF
The logs in /var/spool/hylafax/log are *session* logs. The logs in
/var/log/messages are *server* logs.
I've only had the modem set up two days. In that
time
I've had it wedge once, and end up with this timeout problem once.
I'm
hoping this isn't a sign of what its future reliability will be like.
I
bought a MultiTech modem largely because they seem to be regarded as
the
best, on this list.
I've used the MT5634ZBA-DID modems multiple times before, and I've
never had reliability problems. The worst problem I ever had was when
an electrical surge killed two of them that were installed at one
location. MultiTech replaced them by overnight shipment.
