Yes it worked very nicely !!

Couples of more questions. Please don't feel bothered.
1. what is the exact command to run faxgetty, if modem is on ttyS1
   faxgetty [-c config-item] [-q queue-dir] [-Dpx] modem-device
   what is config-item
what is my queue-dir, is it /var/spool/hylafax?
man faxgetty don't show anything for option -x

2. Do I need to be root to run hylafax server. I mean start, stop,
restart, faxgetty, kinda thing.

here is log for probemodem

[root@sauger log]# probemodem ttyS1

Now we are going to probe the tty port. This takes a few seconds,
so be patient. Note that if you do not have the modem cabled to
the port, or the modem is turned off, this may hang (just go and
cable up the modem or turn it on, or whatever).

Probing for best speed to talk to modem: 38400 OK.

This looks like a Class 1 modem.
