Re: [hylafax-users] Hylafax / Cups / Printfax.pl / Respond or AdiXein

Is the Respond.exe client "popping up" to allow you to input destination info when you print from your Windows workstation to the "fax" printer? Have you checked to see that you can telnet to localhost 5555 on the Windows workstation and cause the Respond.exe client to "pop up?" Also, Sambafax is not meant to be used with respond/printfax.pl - for Sambafax your destination fax number has to be embedded in the document to be faxed. With Respond/printfax you enter the fax number in the Respond client's popup dialog, so the Respond client has to be running on the Windows workstation(s).

We don't have Outlook, but we do use printfax.pl/Respond for our hylafax client software - the necessary additions to your smb.conf can be found at http://www.boerde.de/~horstf/download/smb_conf.add

What specific problems have you been having with this?

Maybe the problem has to do with CUPS.

I have the smb.conf updated with those line, but I can't get the printer
to run the print command (printfax.pl).

I followed the instructions on samba fax (www.purpel3.nl/sambafax) and
have the printer share set up and accepting faxes with a Fax-NR :
555-1212 in the document, but when I switch the print command from the
default to the /usr/bin/printfax.pl script, I still get the error from
the Hylafax Samba Dancer that can't find the phone number to send the
fax to.

I'm using RedHat EL 3 U4 with CUPS.

The Hylafax part is working great, but I can't get the jobs submitted
from the clients.

Thanks.
