[hylafax-users] Regarding ISDN & HylaFax
Hi everyone,
I believe this question has been asked before but i couldn't fine a suitable answer so pls pardon me...:)
I am interested in setting up a FreeBSD or Linux based fax server for the sole purpose of fax broadcasting.
My initial plan was to use a couple of external fax compatible modems to get the job done but thought it would be too messy to have too many phone lines and power plugs scattered all around in my office.
I read up about ISDN (I am new to ISDN !!) and realised that it was possible to make "multiple dial outs" on a single ISDN line at any given time. Therefore i have decided to get myself an ISDN line for my fax server.
I last used hylafax 2 years back and it worked great for me but I am new to the concept of ISDN and HylaFax. Therefore i have got the following questions to ask....
1)Does Hylafax support ISDN ? If yes, can you recommend me a cheap/reliable PCI card that works with Linux (FreeBSD compatibility would be nice...)?
2)Is HylaFax able to send multiple faxs on a single ISDN line at any one time ?? I mean how does HylaFax know that a free channel is available ? This is in contrast to standard analog lines whereby the modem becomes available after it has completed the fax call....
Any help is greatly appreciated !!!
Thank you very much.
Sunil
