Hi, If you are new to Mail Transfer Agents (MTAs) as Sendmail, then I'd suggest to rather have a look at Postfix, which is easier to understand and to configure. Basically, the MTA is a software that decides what to do with e-mail: move it to a local inbox /var/spool/mail , send it to another machine or relay it to another SMTP. The latter is what you probably want it to do. Greetings, Erich Iseli ________________________________ Von: Reuben Raj [mailto:reuben@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] Gesendet: Dienstag, 21. However I don't get an email notification. I assumed that I would need sendmail working on my system for HylaFAX to send me the notification. I am correct in assuming this? As this is my first time working sendmail I am having quite a few problems. Is there any other way to send email notifications? I already have SMTP address from my ISP. System details OS: Mandrake 8.2 Hylafax ver 4.1.6 Thanks Reuben ------=_NextPart **************************************** APS Vision Ltd Unit 84T Business & Innovation Centre Sunderland Enterprise Park Sunderland SR5 2TH tel: 0191 5166233 ____________________ HylaFAX(tm) Users Mailing List _______________________ To subscribe/unsubscribe, click http://lists.hylafax.org/cgi-bin/lsg2.cgi On UNIX: mail -s unsubscribe hylafax-users-request@xxxxxxxxxxx < /dev/null *To learn about commercial HylaFAX(tm) support, mail sales@xxxxxxxxx*
