As a response, that seems a little simplistic.
The topic of "how to archive or get notify to return coverpages" is
available in full discussion in the mailing list archives. Don't
expect me to look it up and post you links or to reiterate in full what
was already mentioned there when I don't have that kind of time.
You didn't specify *how* you delivered faxes to hfaxd, so all that I
could do was give you a general direction.
I use WHFC as the
sending
client.
I don't see how I can send the coverpage as a document and still let
Hylafax
fill in the
standard coverpage fields. Please tell me what it is I'm missing.
You didn't specify that you used WHFC, before, so now I can give you
more specific guidance.
In the hfaxd client-server communications the client specifies the
"type" of file it uploads to the server: whether it is a "document" or
whether it is a "coverpage".
HylaFAX server assumes that coverpages are not worthy of archival and
thus deletes them once they are confirmed received by the receiver.
Thus, if you want the coverpage to hang around long enough for them to
be archived (or returned by notify via e-mail) you'll need to specify
that the coverpage is a "document" instead of a "coverpage" in the
hfaxd client-server communication.
How you're going to get WHFC to do that, I don't know. Perhaps WHFC
has a checkbox somewhere to do it? I'm fairly sure that Pyla does,
though.
Lee.
