thank you very much, your answer was very helpful.

c2faxrecv should be started by the correct entry in
/etc/default/capi4hylafax instead of an entry in /etc/inittab.

/etc/hylafax/FaxDispatch is not necessary on my system since it was
never copied to /var/spool/hylafax/etc. thus I have to edit
/var/spool/hylafax/etc/FaxDispatch.

In /etc/default/hylafax USE_FAXGETTY=no works on my system.

/etc/config.faxCAPI must be edited, since it overwrites indeed
/var/spool/hylafax/etc/config.faxCAPI

If I omit the line MIMENCODE=... in FaxDispatch, I get transferred all
three types of FILETYPE (ps,pdf,tif), but the attached files of type tif
are unreadable, though the file is not empty. Gimp says "missing
headers". 

SENDTO= E-Mail Adresses in FaxDispatch work if they are separated by 
comma eg:
SENDTO=me@xxxxxxxxxxxxx,you@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx;

/var/spool/hylafax/bin/uuencode_it is not needed if in FaxDispatch the
MIMENCOE=      line is omitted.
