OK. You have a version of libtiff which includes a fix for the bug. 
(extract from changelog: tiff (3.6.1-1.1) ... Include patch from  
upstream to fix multistrip g3 fax bug. Closes: #243405)

Do you use capi4hylafax? Which version?

My system is working well with hylafax-server and -client 4.2.0-10,  
capi4hylafax 01.02.03-6 and libtiff4 and libtiff-tools 3.6.1-2.
(And it worked with previous versions of hylafax-*. That's why I don't  
think upgrading to the unstable version would help.)
