Hi everyone, Although my modem does not have any problems communicating with other fax devices, every time I receive something the resulting TIF files always end up looking like an unreadable mess of vertical lines. Any idea what could be causing this? I used the faxaddmodem script to add the modem (a 1997 USR Courier) as a Class1 fax and received no errors. This is what my config.ttyS0 looks like at the moment: ======================= CountryCode: 31 AreaCode: 118 FAXNumber: 123456 LongDistancePrefix: 1 InternationalPrefix: 00 DialStringRules: etc/dialrules.europe ServerTracing: 0x08501 SessionTracing: 0x08501 RecvFileMode: 0640 LogFileMode: 0640 DeviceMode: 0660 RingsBeforeAnswer: 1 SpeakerVolume: off GettyArgs: "-r -b %l" LocalIdentifier: "NothingSetup" TagLineFormat: "From %%l|%c|Page %%P of %%T" MaxRecvPages: 25 # ModemType: Class1 # use class 1 interface ModemRate: 19200 # rate for DCE-DTE communication ModemFlowControl: xonxoff # software flow control # ModemSetupDTRCmd: ATS13=1&D2 # setup so DTR drop resets modem ModemSetupDCDCmd: AT&C1 # setup so DCD reflects carrier (or not) ModemNoFlowCmd: AT&H0&I0&R1 # setup modem for no flow control ModemHardFlowCmd: AT&H1&I0&R2 # setup modem for hardware flow control ModemSoftFlowCmd: AT&H2&I2&R1 # setup modem for software flow control ModemResultCodesCmd: ATQ0X4 # enable result codes # ModemMfrQueryCmd: !USR ModemModelQueryCmd: ATI3 ModemRevQueryCmd: ATI7 # XXX returns a multi-line result # Class1NFLOCmd: AT&H0&I0&R1 # setup modem for no flow control Class1HFLOCmd: AT&H1&I0&R2 # setup modem for hardware flow control Class1SFLOCmd: "" # modem does this automatically # Class1ResponseWaitCmd: AT+FRS=1 # wait after sending TCF for response # ModemSetupAACmd: AT+FCLASS=0 # leave modem idling in class 0 ModemAnswerCmd: AT+FCLASS=1A # answer in Class 1 # Class2NRCmd: AT+FNR=1,1,1,0 ======================= And this is typicaly what the log shows after a fax is received: ======================= Aug 19 11:47:08 chi FaxGetty[20107]: STATE CHANGE: RUNNING -> LISTENING Aug 19 11:47:08 chi FaxGetty[20107]: STATE CHANGE: LISTENING -> ANSWERING Aug 19 11:47:13 chi FaxGetty[20107]: ANSWER: FAX CONNECTION DEVICE '/dev/ttyS0' Aug 19 11:47:36 chi FaxGetty[20107]: RECV FAX (00000081): from 0701231231, page 1 in 0:15, INF, 3.85 line/mm, 2-D MR, 14400 bit/s Aug 19 11:47:36 chi FaxGetty[20107]: RECV FAX (00000081): recvq/fax00037.tif from 0701231231, route to <unspecified>, 1 pages in 0:23 Aug 19 11:47:37 chi FaxGetty[20107]: RECV FAX: bin/faxrcvd "recvq/fax00037.tif" "ttyS0" "00000081" "" "" "" Aug 19 11:47:50 chi FaxGetty[20107]: MODEM USR 00:00:00/Configuration Profile...
