Trust me, the result is MUCH better. Well, it's an improvement. First, I removed the fax by deleting the configuration file (config.ttyS0) and restarting hylafax. Then I used the faxaddmodem script to re-add the modem; it selected Class1 for me. So far, the result is that hylafax is communicating with those faxes that it had previously been having problems with, but now the resulting TIF files aren't legible: all they show is a collection of vertical lines. Any idea how tis might be corrected? Following are a copy of my hylafax log with a typical log entry for the above behaviour, plus a copy of my current modem configuration file. ================= Aug 20 14:05:53 chi FaxGetty[20107]: STATE CHANGE: RUNNING -> LISTENING Aug 20 14:05:54 chi FaxGetty[20107]: STATE CHANGE: LISTENING -> ANSWERING Aug 20 14:05:59 chi FaxGetty[20107]: ANSWER: FAX CONNECTION DEVICE '/dev/ttyS0' Aug 20 14:06:24 chi FaxGetty[20107]: RECV FAX (00000082): from +31 118 642202, page 1 in 0:17, INF, 3.85 line/mm, 2-D MR, 14400 bit/s Aug 20 14:06:24 chi FaxGetty[20107]: RECV FAX (00000082): recvq/fax00038.tif from +31 118 642222, route to <unspecified>, 1 pages in 0:25 Aug 20 14:06:26 chi FaxGetty[20107]: RECV FAX: bin/faxrcvd "recvq/fax00038.tif" "ttyS0" "00000082" "" "" "" Aug 20 14:06:38 chi FaxGetty[20107]: MODEM USR 00:00:00/Configuration Profile...
