I've used psmark (http://www.antitachyon.com/Content/Utilities/psmark) to add simple timestamp banners to incoming faxes (psmark -i - -o - -x -400 -y 20 -r 0 -s 10 "`date`"), but it's pretty simple, so it might not do what you want. I have heard talk of something Chris Parsons did a while back for combining postscript pages, unfortunately I've lost track of where it all was, but it was postscript1 only. A flexible little PS compositing tool would be most handy for hylafax scripts imo.
