HylaFAX needs a RING to trigger its answering sequence. > eg serial port to serial port Does your fax machine have a serial port? That would be unusual. > modem to modem (linked with a plain telephone cable)? This would work most likely, but you'd need to figure out a way to trigger the send/receive for HylaFAX. Maybe there is a "manual receive now" signal you could send to the faxgetty process to pick up the phone and initiate fax receive tones... if there is, you could just feed your document into the fax machine, hit the "receive now" trigger, and then do a "manual fax originate" on the fax machine which should connect and whatnot. It's probably more hassle than its worth... if your local phonecalls are unmetered, then it's definitely not worth hassling around with. =R= ____________________ HylaFAX(tm) Users Mailing List _______________________ To subscribe/unsubscribe, click http://lists.hylafax.org/cgi-bin/lsg2.cgi On UNIX: mail -s unsubscribe hylafax-users-request@xxxxxxxxxxx < /dev/null *To learn about commercial HylaFAX(tm) support, mail sales@xxxxxxxxx*
