[hylafax-users] MODEM Command error

Hi

I am running Hylafax 4.1.8 on a Redhat 7.3 machine with a US Robotics 56K faxmodem.
The problem I am having is that the hylafax server(which is sending faxes only) will run for days/weeks without a problem and then all of a sudden faxes start failing with the following trace in the log:

Jul 05 12:30:14.78: [25057]: USE 1-D MR
Jul 05 12:30:14.78: [25057]: <-- [7:AT+FDT\r]
Jul 05 12:30:15.02: [25057]: --> [5:ERROR]
Jul 05 12:30:15.02: [25057]: MODEM Command error
Jul 05 12:30:15.02: [25057]: <-- [7:AT+FKS\r]
Jul 05 12:30:15.26: [25057]: --> [2:OK]
Jul 05 12:30:15.26: [25057]: <-- [5:ATH0\r]
Jul 05 12:30:15.50: [25057]: --> [2:OK]
Jul 05 12:30:15.50: [25057]: SESSION END

And from then on ALL subsequent faxes fail with the same error. I have found that by running the command, it seems to come right again: /usr/local/sbin/faxmodem -c '(0,1),(0-5),(0-2),(0-2),0,0,0,(0-7)' ttyS0

But why do I need to "Remind" hylafax about its modem all the time???

Thanks
