Hi, i've a Hylafax server with gentoo linux OS and Zyxel OMNI 56k external modem, almost everything is OK, but sometimes this is the log: (if somebody is sending a fax with an "older" - i don't know what type of - fax machine) Jul 02 05:55:06.40: [ 2091]: SESSION BEGIN 00000118 ########### Jul 02 05:55:06.40: [ 2091]: HylaFAX (tm) Version 4.1.8 Jul 02 05:55:06.40: [ 2091]: <-- [4:ATA\r] Jul 02 05:55:16.08: [ 2091]: --> [4:+FCO] Jul 02 05:55:16.08: [ 2091]: ANSWER: FAX CONNECTION DEVICE '/dev/ttyS0' Jul 02 05:55:16.08: [ 2091]: RECV FAX: begin Jul 02 05:55:16.32: [ 2091]: --> [27:+FTI:"Fax "] Jul 02 05:55:16.32: [ 2091]: REMOTE TSI "Fax" Jul 02 05:55:16.32: [ 2091]: --> [20:+FCS:1,5,0,0,1,0,0,0] Jul 02 05:55:16.32: [ 2091]: REMOTE wants 14400 bit/s Jul 02 05:55:16.32: [ 2091]: REMOTE wants page width 1728 pixels in 215 mm Jul 02 05:55:16.32: [ 2091]: REMOTE wants A4 page length (297 mm) Jul 02 05:55:16.32: [ 2091]: REMOTE wants 7.7 line/mm Jul 02 05:55:16.32: [ 2091]: REMOTE wants 2-D MR Jul 02 05:55:16.32: [ 2091]: --> [2:OK] Jul 02 05:55:16.32: [ 2091]: <-- [7:AT+FDR\r] Jul 02 05:55:21.33: [ 2091]: --> [20:+FCS:1,5,0,0,1,0,0,0] Jul 02 05:55:21.33: [ 2091]: REMOTE wants 14400 bit/s Jul 02 05:55:21.33: [ 2091]: REMOTE wants page width 1728 pixels in 215 mm Jul 02 05:55:21.33: [ 2091]: REMOTE wants A4 page length (297 mm) Jul 02 05:55:21.33: [ 2091]: REMOTE wants 7.7 line/mm Jul 02 05:55:21.33: [ 2091]: REMOTE wants 2-D MR Jul 02 05:55:21.33: [ 2091]: --> [7:CONNECT] Jul 02 05:55:21.33: [ 2091]: RECV: begin page Jul 02 05:55:21.33: [ 2091]: RECV: send trigger 022 Jul 02 05:55:21.33: [ 2091]: <-- data [1] Jul 02 05:55:39.56: [ 2091]: RECV: 32719 bytes of data, 849 total lines Jul 02 05:55:57.70: [ 2091]: RECV: 32767 bytes of data, 2092 total lines Jul 02 05:55:59.47: [ 2091]: RECV: 3023 bytes of data, 2399 total lines (no more lines in the log, and hylafax is running with this job) it seems the server is running, but it isn't any communication between remote fax and my modem. If i call my fax-server number, the line is engaged or it has an error, i think the modem's holding the line. I tried to restart hylafax (/etc/init.d/hylafax restart or stop/start), but nothing... the server was "receiving" fax... I tried to reset the modem, but the 'faxstat' said, that it's receiving the fax, but the phone line isn't engaged. If I restarted Gentoo, the server closed the log file: Jul 02 07:24:17.83: [ 2091]: CLOSE /dev/ttyS0 (at 07:24!!! Last log message was at 05:55!!!) After restart, the hylafax is working well again. But the fax's lost. It isn't a "big" problem. My big problem is: I don't receive/send another fax, while the modem is holding the line... :( What's the problem?
