Re: [hylafax-users] Modem Not Hanging up after Fax Timeout

Dear Keith,

By the way, the problem isn't new. Someone described it already in
ancient times:

    * Subject: [hylafax-users] Modem blocks line after some received
    * faxes

Hi!

I am using Hylafax 4.0pl2 with a Hayes 14.4 modem (Class 1). It
basically works fine but every 5-10 faxes the modem doesn't hang up
after receiving the fax. I get an error message via mail like this:

Aug 13 23:52:27.41: [  572]: --> [7:CONNECT]
Aug 13 23:52:27.41: [  572]: RECV: begin page
Aug 13 23:52:58.02: [  572]: RECV: 1146 total lines, 0 bad lines, 0
consecutive bad lines
.....
.....
Aug 13 23:54:11.40: [  572]: RECV FAX (00001857): session with +49 0 0
terminated abnormally: T.30 T2 timeout, expected page not received
Aug 13 23:54:11.40: [  572]: RECV FAX: bin/faxrcvd "recvq/fax01606.tif"
"ttyS2" "00001857" "T.30 T2 timeout, expected page not received"

After that the phone line the computer is connected to is dead. All I
can do is rebooting the modem. I am already using this system since 1997
and it works fine except this problem.
This is no lock file problem. If shut down faxgetty I can start minicom
but no keys are working in minicom. I can only stop it by killing it
(-9).
If I reboot the server everything is fine again but this is a productive
server and I can't reboot it every two or three days.
Does anyone have an idea?

Thanks in advance.

Lueder
