I am having problems evaluating Hylafax for my company's needs. We have a Linux box running, Debian "woody" with a self compiled 2.4.21 kernel and Debian's Hylafax 4.1.7-0.4 packages. We are using US Robotics 5868D Faxmodems (circa 2000, v.90 and x2 compatible). The install of the Hylafax packages went without incident, and faxaddmodem can communicate and identify the modems over either serial port, addressed as either /dev/ttyS[01]. It's after that when things break down. The software cannot initialize the modems when called upon to send a fax. The log goes something like this ... This state continues until the machine is rebooted (which is something outside my control) What should I try or look at to help diagnose this problem? How do I get Hylafax to correctly work with the modems? -dean takemori ____________________ HylaFAX(tm) Users Mailing List _______________________ To subscribe/unsubscribe, click http://lists.hylafax.org/cgi-bin/lsg2.cgi On UNIX: mail -s unsubscribe hylafax-users-request@xxxxxxxxxxx < /dev/null *To learn about commercial HylaFAX(tm) support, mail sales@xxxxxxxxxxxx*
