As I said HylaFAX needs faxgetty running... Install your modem in Class1, in the inittab file include 4 and 5 level, re-run inittab by doing init q in the shell and try changing the ModemFlowControl value (xonxoff or rtscts). Oh, I can't remember if you sent any session log, just in case send one.
