I have tried 2 ways to do this. The first was as i installed the capi4linux as rpm from SuSe. This rpm has inserted the following line in the inittab:
This did not function because of the problem with the virtual modem. I have uninstalled the rpm. Then i have compiled capi4linux from http://capi4linux.thepenguin.de/download.shtml and following the instructions on http://ixi.thepenguin.de/c4h.php i have added this line to inittab:
