I might know a smidgen more about that than you do :) If you want send-only, read the section below: http://www.hylafax.org/howto/tweaking.php#ss6.6 Basically, you don't want a getty at all, but this means each time the machine is rebooted, or the daemons restarted, you'll have to re-run some of the configuration stuff. It the very least, that means running the following after starting the normal Hylafax software: faxstate -n ttyS0 for each serial port/modem. You may also have to run faxmodem first (with the appropriate Class 1 or 2 modem string for your hardware). It seems to work okay, at least if you don't turn your machine and/or modem on and off all the time.
