[hylafax-users] New user with a little question
Hi all
I have happily converted my faxserver to HylaFax from RedRock's FaxNow, it's
a nice program and cheap for a Windows environment. But now that we are
adding more Linux machines to our network I wanted HylaFax to serve as our
main fax send & receive solution.
I successfully compiled and installed the 4.1.6 patch-level release source
to my Slackware 9 machine, ran faxsetup and faxaddmodem to add my USR
Sportster external modem, I chose Class 1 cause I read in the docs that it
was better, it configged it with the default setup (usr-xon). I was able to
successfully send and receive on the first tries, nice start!
After 3 or 4 days of running, approx 20 receives per day (damn faxspam) and
5 sends, I find the modem ringing but HylaFax is not answering, it just sits
there, I check faxstat and it says "Listening to rings from modem"...
Stopped HylaFax and restarted it, after a while it restarts to receive...
This happened twice in a week probably, what would be the cause of this
behavior? I'm waiting to switch my other modem to this machine, hoping to
fix this problem...
Waiting for any input, thanks in advance
Prout
