It seems that hylafax does not require a modem to be installed before.

I stopped hylafax and faxgetty, then the installation was completed
"cu -l ttySx" shows that there is a connection established with the modem.
However, if I run faxstat only following line will be returned:
HylaFAX scheduler on faxserver.mydomain.com: Running
A further line as indicated on http://www.hylafax.org/howto/using.php section
3.4 will not be returned:
Modem ttySx (000-123-4567): Waiting for modem to come ready
or
Modem ttySx (000-123-4567): Running and idle
or
Modem ttySx (000-123-4567): Initializing server
What's going wrong?
