1) Use quoting better :-)

2) faxsetup, when run, should modify hyla.conf automatically adding
appropriate entries for the font search path; these entries will look
similar at the output of "gs -h " (for the the font path).
ie:
cat hyla.conf
...
...
# FontMap/FontPath added by faxsetup (Thu Sep 26 09:45:28 CEST 2002)

/usr/share/ghostscript/7.05/lib:/usr/share/ghostscript/fonts:/usr/sha

3) HylaFAX looks for a specific kind of index file inside one of those dirs
(Fontmap, Fontmap.GS, something similar), fonts alone are not enough.

4) I think font metric info is not needed anymore, just fonts + index
