Re: [hylafax-users] More then one lt moden
Yes I AGGREE but I cant find a internal PCI full hardware modem
And I need 2 or more phone lines mother boards these days don't have ISA
slots.
The win modem took me about 10 minutes to get working and it costs about
$10.00.
When I tried to use an external modem USR ext sportster and ext currer
I get timeouts and hang ups.
The agree internal win modem works great and I get about 80 fax's a day
on it.
I just don't know how to do insmod for the ltmodem.o and the ltsetial.o
two or more times.
There must be a way to tell the drivers the hardware address and also
alias the driver I cant find any docs ant where on the net and REDHAT
that I pay $2000.00 a year for support says NOT SUPPORTED BYE!!
But if I go to buy a real modem I cant find one well not PCI any way
I am still in dire need of some help
Surly I'm not the only one that wants to use internal modems to save
space and wires
Thank
Joe

I don't know about RH nor your problem.
But you really go in a way to have problems.
WinModem is to be avoid! Even in windows! Just never
buy winmodem at all.
External modem is the way for a pleasure in admin !
You see exactly what happen with lights, it's easy to install
cause of standard com port, and very stable, the hardware
is all there and do all the job.
And now, in 2002, it's so cheap !
(I should have 20 33.6 and 56K used modem in the storage room!)
Or, if you insist for internal modem, use full hardware modem.
Just think of the time you will take to make your winmodems
to work... in linux!
Just my opinion... I learned it me too.. ;o)
