I have run across this problem with WinFax 9.0 as well. It seems to be tied to the type of modem that they are using to send with WinFax. (It is not a consistent problem with WinFax... just some modems cause problems.) From what I can tell, WinFax does not make the modem send any hand shake signal when HylaFax picks up the call. (I have received a WinFax call on a voice line... dead silence is all you hear sometimes.) So HylaFax does not "hear" a hand shake attempt or anything and just drops the line. Beyond that I have no idea what to do to make this work. Cheers. --- Charles -----Original Message----- From: hylafax-users-bounce@hylafax.org [mailto:hylafax-users-bounce@hylafax.org]On Behalf Of Louis Chau Sent: Thursday, October 31, 2002 2:20 AM To: Hylafax User Subject: [hylafax-users] Cannot receive fax from WinFax 9.0 Dear all, I am using Linux RedHat 7.1 and Hylafax version 4.1.5. My client send fax to me using WinFax 9.0 and while sending fax, his modem cannot connect with my modem. Also, I receive no error from my Hylafax server. Is there any problem for hylafax to receive the fax from WinFax or else? -- Rgds, Louis Email: louis_chau@midstream.com.hk Web : www.midstream.com.hk ____________________ HylaFAX(tm) Users Mailing List _______________________ To subscribe/unsubscribe, click http://lists.hylafax.org/cgi-bin/lsg2.cgi On UNIX: mail -s unsubscribe hylafax-users-request@hylafax.org < /dev/null *To learn about commercial HylaFAX(tm) support, mail sales@hylafax.org.* ____________________ HylaFAX(tm) Users Mailing List _______________________ To subscribe/unsubscribe, click http://lists.hylafax.org/cgi-bin/lsg2.cgi On UNIX: mail -s unsubscribe hylafax-users-request@hylafax.org < /dev/null *To learn about commercial HylaFAX(tm) support, mail sales@hylafax.org.*
