[hylafax-users] typeruels and ASCII-8859

I use Hylafax on Linux7.3 Suse and 
i want to send acsii text with german umlaut e.g. "ae"

the program file gives me the type ASCII-8859 back.

Hylafax brings the error message: "can not determine file type".

my question is:
what should i insert into the hylafax typerules to be able to convert
the umlaut characters?

is there any solution to this?
