Did you perform a clean or archive install of 10.2, instead of an 
upgrade?

I do. HylaFAX seems to be answering the phone at this point, I just 
need to figure out how to connect with WHFC at this point to see what 
works and what doesn't.

Where does HylaFAX store the received messages?

I have a feeling I am going to be doing lots more reading of the 
how-tos, etc . Of course, the bug with the Apple built-in modem doesn't 
help any...

Oh well, I am also going to be installing on Mandrake 8.2 using two USR 
5610B modems, which should hopefully bbehave better.
