Hi. I am looking for a good script for tiff to pnm conversions. Right now I have tried tifftopnm but it does not do a good job, and I have also tried tiff2ps followed by pstopnm but again the output is not great. Here is the reason: I would like to use gocr (optical recognition) in a script I have written to deduce incoming fax reception people and then if the weighted average of the search is closest to a person or person's name, automatically forward the fax to the email recipient. I have it working in theory and also in pseudo-practice (with files that are readable by gocr). However, most of the translation scripts do not maintain very good quality to the converted image. Any help is greatly appreciated.
