You are using a conexant based winmodem right?  I want to be clear on
that.  If so, I am surprised that the script could not poll for the
class.  Mine worked just fine through that.

However, I just remembered... have you installed the latest driver which
even has fax support?  The older HCF driver (before July I believe) did
not support fax, and thus perhaps the class command would not work.

Make sure you have the latest driver.
