We have a couple of Axis 7000 here, we use the for scan to file.
I think it will not be possible to send fax directly to hylafax server 
without a wrapper. It will be simple to write since the scanserver write a 
tiff file and a information file with all the information you want.
(You can even connect a keyboard to the scanserver and program it)
It's really good but expensive. 
If you want some more info about it just let me know.
